We use DPM 2012 to protect our Exchange 2010 SP1 DAGs. We have successfully restored mailboxes several times in the recent past. Yesterday after initiating a restore from disk, and having it run for 8 hours, it failed with the following message:
The operation failed because of inadequate disk space. (ID 2035 Details: There is not enough space on the disk (0x80070070))
The database we were recovering is just over 1TB in size. The mount point that contains the recovery db is approximately 2TB in size....so space should not be an issue. There was an existing recovery db present that was about 1TB in size from a past restore, but I set it to be overwritten....so that space in use by the previous restore would've been reclaimed by my restore.
The "recommended action" in the DPM console was to "increase the amount of free space on volume\\?\C:\ on the destination computer". The c drive on the destination computer (the one that holds the recovery db) has plenty of free space (not sure why space is needed on the C drive of the destination computer during a restore).
I have not been able to figure this out or know why I got these messages. Any advice would be appreciated.
