Hi I'm trying to backup my exchange 2013 DAG and I just found out painfully, DPM does not directly backup to tape but via disk-disk-tape. My tape backup is an HP 1.8 G2 Autoloader with 8 slots, 1.8TB per tape and we were not planning to spend on hard disk
again as we wanted to fully utilize the tape backup. Now when I configure exchange DAG backup on DPM, it's shows I need nearly 4TB of hard disk space to backup from all 3 exchange databases to disk and from which will be sent to the tapes. I want to
know is that how you guys backup your exchange databases using DPM and tape backup? So that means it's a waste of resources to have a tape backup for exchange when you can just purchase hard disks to do they job, I don't get it why the disk-disk-tape? what
happens after the data is transferred from the disk to the tape, will it be deleted from the disk?
