The previous administrator configured DPM 2010 backups of our Exchange 2010 servers.
He has set DPM to backup the separate Exchange mailbox databases as well as all the folders on the volume containing the .edb files and the CatalogData folders.
Is there any reason to do this or is it a waste of backup capacity? Our disks holding the backups are almost full so if this way of backing up creates unneeded redundancy I could stop the backup of the files and solve the disk space problems.
Can anybody confirm if the folder level backups on the volume holding the edb files are needed or not?
Tnx!
